By now, we all know that the criminal underworld is always eager to leave its stamp on hip-hop and while many artists come into the game with ties that they can’t shake off, others seem to inadvisably seek them out. In certain areas, there is also the prospect that you’re going to get pressed for any valuables you might have on you.
In Houston, people go to J Prince for protection. In Detroit, visiting artists are encouraged to check in with Trick Trick to get past the No Fly Zone. But in recent years, one place has emerged as far more treacherous than an...

Просмотров 49 тыс.28 дней назад
To a lot of people, "mumble rap" fell off back in 2018/2019. But, that doesn’t mean that the concept of “mumble rap” is over. Because in reality, it’s alive and flourishing more than ever. The thing is that nowadays, we're just desensitized to it to the point that we didn’t realize it’s still here. #HipHopMadness #mumblerap #drake hiphopmadness hiphopmadness Narrated b...
Kendrick Lamar Won, But at What Cost?

As the dust begins to settle on the hip-hop civil war, it seems like the real damage is coming into focus. While no blood was spilled, It’s safe to say that things haven't been this ugly in a rap beef since the days of Biggie and Pac, with Kendrick Lamar basically dissecting every aspect of Drake’s identity. But, there’s also collateral damage to what’s been said. #kendricklamar #drake #hiphopm...
How Rick Rubin Almost Destroyed Eminem's Career

Across the storied pages of hip-hop history’s books, chemistry between two individuals has yielded no shortage of greatness. From Eric B and Rakim and DJ Premier and Guru through to Hov and Kanye or even 21 Savage and Metro Boomin today, finding the right groove between a producer and a rapper is akin to striking gold and, as plenty of people have learned over the years, can’t be forced. Likewi...
The Addiction That Destroyed Kanye West's Life

We all have bad habits, but most of us can control them, while for others, they end up warping their brains, affecting personal relationships, and occasionally, skewing their thought process to the point of no return. Traditionally, addiction is characterized as an intoxicant that causes chemical reactions in your body when it’s ingested. But of course, there are other ways to consume material ...
Lil Baby Is Lost And Confused
Просмотров 336 тыс.6 месяцев назад
Generally speaking, they say that what goes up, must eventually come down. But in the case of Lil Baby who once looked to be in pole position to replace Drake, it seems like things are spiraling out of orbit at an alarming rate. For a window of around three years, the rapper lesser known as Dominique Jones had more momentum and combined goodwill than any other artist in the field. Commended by ...
Why Being a Hip Hop Producer Sucks
Просмотров 265 тыс.6 месяцев назад
At the heart of hip-hop culture is its poetic soul. Used first as a medium to incite the dancefloor before evolving into a means of conveying the harsh realities of life all the way through to gritty street reporting, there is a reason why “rapping” has been one of the four elements since its inception. But where graffiti and breakdancing have fallen by the wayside, the other key component that...

The Most Awkward Interviews In Hip Hop History
Просмотров 1,4 млн6 месяцев назад
Rappers are notoriously tough to interview. Come off too much like the police and there’s every chance that they’ll shut down and refuse to participate in the interview. On the other hand, If a rapper says or does the wrong thing during an interview - i.e Drake infamously freestyling off his blackberry in 2009 - there’s every chance that this will be etched into their legacy forever. In this vi...

How LA Hip Hop Lost Its Cool

As we all know, hip-hop was born in New York City, but it's since spread its wings far and wide. And sometimes, one singular location along a coast line can yield so much creative gold...

50 Cent´s The Massacre was not a bad album, you tripping thats the worst part of the video, A LIE
UK rap is just fucking corny.
Haha awww
Mumble rap still my favourite genre, old heads could kick rocks.
Idk if y’all realised this but if you jumble up the letters on the mm food Album it spells MF DOOM
It’s not that no one was “not a big enough fan of hip hop to follow D12’s solo careers” they just honestly weren’t that great stand alone. There’s a select few songs.. but other than that they were stale without the Dirty Dozen vibe.
Update they dropped an album recently
It has been said "why when we make it out the gutter we go broke buying the very same thing that represents enslavement? Why not use that money to buy land; your own 40 acres and a F150?"
Takeoff checked in to only be Takenout!
Violations? There is honor among thieves? Pirates of the Caribbean don' come ashore. Get rich or die trying (Caribbean NYC influenced spinning like a top on human head, I like it like that?). Point is everyone has broken all of America's etiquette norms--made anomalies of Black boys and Black girls, and at some point someone is going to say something. But thank goodness this time they're getting paid. Do what you feel you must do to take care of you (self centered has been doing and will do). Who's to say? As a cultural spokesperson I say there are no limits of this spectrum, butt showing, comedian cracking and slapping, Kat Williams, or Kanye and Tiger while parents away live to make another day. It's what people do in capitalism, keep up.
Indeed
Shout out to Nip & Gibbs
Drake aint nowhere near MJ, Prince or Kendrick's talentry...
You can't cancel a man who's entire premise is to offend you. You only feed the flames...
5:54 very sweet that you mentioned his new, better life
White people here talking about white rappers and not mentioning apathy or the genuinely greatest, Evidence from Dilated Peoples. Who bodied eminem easily on The Search For Bobby Fisher.
Dude lies like a kid im not surprised now he likes kids 😂
Lyrics matter sometimes, but I prefer sounds more than sum lyrical spiritual shit, people always think that all music is meant to be deep to be meaningful, happy music has meaning too, it's not just what people expect it to be, and not all 90s rap songs had meaning too, they also talked about the same thing you hate about today's hip hop.
hes got a million dollars and can take a bath in it.. scrooge hes happy no longer anger management
corny clickbait shit .... dumb post man
Joe Budden calling Logic the worst like he didn’t have a rap career himself. Who here knows him because of his rapping?
The game aka bipolar schizophrenia personality
Drake didn not put up an admiral fight, I can't even remember his response
These albums were a big part of my teens , loved these guys . ❤
Kevin was alone in there... and made it alive.
This is the Wu-Tang effect. Come together, branch out. But something went wrong. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to hear more bizzare solo.
Gotta keep it a buck here - Eminem and Proof were the ones who's verses you wanted to hear on a D12 song. The rest of them are decent, but there's a reason you're mentioning their mixtapes as going largely unnoticed - they place firmly in the weed carrier category of rappers, and with both their best members absent there was no real reason to check for the group anymore.
If he would have take an album every year it will expose his MIDness. Fight me.
Timberland and justin timberlake? :D LoL Bitches!
why do people always go after hailey? that's low. u can't get em on his skill or abilities, so you go after his daughter? fuckin wack.
I would love to see Lupe vs Kendrick battle just bars not beef only Bars
Lupe been calling out dot but don't doesn't wanna come out
For the record.. Lupe isn't the Child. I can see how a casual could misinterpret Lupe's verse in 'Don't Stop': "OMG it's the C from the CRS". He's referring to Ye, not himself, it was a clever introduction to Ye's third verse.... Fix the thumbnail for posterity. "And throw a tantrum like he is, 3 years old." - Ye in 'Diamonds from Sierra Leone'
"Drake is a master manipulator" Im now convinced Kendrick watched this video 4 years ago when he wrote his diss tracks 😂😂 In conclusion , Kendrick is both MJ and Prince in terms of talent, social impact and respect from their colleagues
Dont talk about feeding there family when he buying a 100k watch
I disagree with moat everything you say... For starters, I truly dislike Dres sound... The dopey stringy sounds, the GTA "feel". Theyre NOT good beats. And as much I dont like Rick Rubin as a person (from interviews and because I had the bad luck of meeting him in person) he is the better producer. It n fact, "so far" its one of the few Eminem songs that I can listen to to this day ... Without his whiny voice and ugly aounding beats getting on ny nerves. Berzerk is a banger too .
His early work was great too. Young Sinatra and Under Pressure
I’m 34. I honestly love being this age..You hit a sweetspot physically and mentally. A lot of things that used to bother me don’t anymore. There is no reason to pretend to be 18. Drake is just stuck in that mentality and his music isn’t maturing. His music really should be geared towards my age demographic. I remember “best I ever had” and “over” were his first 2 songs to pop off when I was around a sophomore in college. That was 14 yrs ago now haha. Learn to evolve..fans will stick by. Especially someone at that level of fame.
Vlad the feds. Come to Collect Calls!
Rick ruined Deloused in the Comatorium. The loudness of the record makes it sound terrible and pops when you play it at certain volumes. I’d love to see the album re-mixed with better levels. Before anyone says that it’s the job of the audio engineers and sound mixers, all of Rubin’s albums from that era sound that way and he is clearly singing off on them.
Random DOOM lines run thru my mind all during the day
Lol they did not just compare Andre 3000 vs Joe Budden/Rakim/BDK lol Ill even entertain a Budden return album doing good numbers but come on lol Andre left the game, the game left the others alone.
I personally prefer insane clown posse over Eminem Also Michael Jackson is bigger than Eminem and bought some of his music Combined with Sony/ATV at the time owning some of Eminems songs and more
sabotaged his rap career?
It still sucks
Guys.... He only owned 50% andnthats it.m.
Everlast looking like the main villain
